Known as one of the most diverse zip codes in the U.S., Albany Park has been home to Jewish, Asian, Latinx, and Middle Eastern immigrants. While the area faces gentrification today, these cultural influences remain.



Albany Park resident and reader Devika D. shared what she likes to do in the Northwest Side neighborhood.

Something to eat: “At Angelo's Wine Bar, start with the flight and bites for some wine-paired charcuterie, and calamari fritti with garlic confit aioli and giardiniera for a Chicago touch. Then go for the drunken bucatini and carbonara pizza! Eggs on pizza make for a great next-day breakfast.”



Something to drink: “Grab an espresso martini at Bokeh!”

Something to see: “Walk the trails next to the river down to where the kayakers dwell at River Park. See native plant life and local birds, and check out the murals.”
