Ahead of Chicago Restaurant Week’s official start Friday, the City Cast Chicago team has pored over the articles, TikToks, and spreadsheet to bring you the specials we are most excited about.
City Cast Chicago podcast host Jacoby Cochran
- 🍷 I am a sucker for vibes, and Bronzeville Winery is always so enjoyable. Great music, creative drinks, and I can’t decide if I enjoy their brunch or dinner more!
- 🇻🇳 I really want to try HaiSous Vietnamese Kitchen in Pilsen. The menu looks packed with flavors, and I love a good mezcal cocktail.
City Cast Chicago executive producer Simone Alicea
- 🦪 I am an oyster fiend, and the lunch and dinner deals at Remington’s in the Loop feature both East and West coast varieties.
- 🧅 I’ve been craving French onion soup since we did an onion episode, and I’ve heard Bistro Campagne in Lincoln Square has the best. So believe I am taking advantage of that $42 deal with soup, steak, and crème brulee.
City Cast Chicago producer Michelle Navarro
- 🌮 This gives me the chance to try out La Josie in West Loop. The family-owned restaurant offers two-course-plus-dessert brunch and lunch specials for $25. Already debating if I should get the cochinita pibil torta or the cesina tacos.
- 🍝 I’ve been eyeing Alla Vita for its menu, but also for its beautiful interior and ambience. For $59, you get a three-course dinner and a seasonal scoop of gelato or sorbet.
Hey Chicago newsletter editor Sidney Madden
- 🥩 For $59, I will be smashing the steak flight at Holu in Chinatown. Bring on the meat sweats!
- 🇪🇹 It’s been nearly a year since Simone introduced me to Demera in Uptown, and I’ve been loving the vegetarian messob ever since. (Yes, this Chicago meat eater digs the city’s vegetarian scene!)
