Nonalcoholic fest NA Day is already sold out this weekend. “Dry January” searches are up. And Chicago’s nonalcoholic market is exploding with new products, Eater’s Ashok Selvam told the City Cast Chicago podcast.Sober-curious? Here are some spots to check out.
Mocktails
Daisies in Logan Square is serving mushroom sours, made with mushroom syrup, egg white, and lemon. It's sweet, savory and sour.
Venteux on the Mag Mile has matcha lassis, a matcha tea with pistachio and tangy greek yogurt. It is foamy goodness.
Simone’s in Pilsen has a tropical drink made with lychee, guava, and lime.
Other spaces
Eli’s Tea Bar in Andersonville is an LGBTQ-friendly sober bar selling tea lattes, bubble tea, and kombucha. It also hosts drag bingo and art nights.
Bendición Dry Bar in Humboldt Park is a new sober community space and pop-up shop with programming like tarot readings, D&D tutorials, and blind taste testing.
Prāzbar in Bronzeville is a bottle pop-up shop that sells alcohol-removed wine and zero-proof whiskies, gins, vodkas, and more.
