I know I said Dry January is out, but I don’t judge. And since we talked breweries on today’s podcast, it seems only fair we remind you of these nonalc options around the city. For the sober-curious:

Mocktails

Daisies in Logan Square is serving mushroom sours, made with mushroom syrup, egg white, and lemon. It's sweet, savory, and (of course) sour.

Bokeh in Albany Park has a nonacoholic section of its cocktail menu, which features the (cutely named) You’re Turning Violet, Violet: a mix of blueberry juice, lemon, sage, and club soda.

Simone’s in Pilsen makes craft mocktails with NA spirits. The Mangonada has lychee, guava, and lime, and the Passion Project is made with passionfruit puree, muddled cucumber, and lime.

Other spaces

Eli’s Tea Bar in Andersonville is an LGBTQ-friendly sober bar selling tea lattes, bubble tea, and kombucha. It also hosts drag bingo and art nights.

Solar Intentions in Edgewater is a nonalcoholic bottle shop and hangout spot. It sells NA spirits, wine, beer, and canned mocktails — it’s also proudly lesbian-owned.

Prāzbar in Bronzeville is a bottle shop that sells alcohol-removed wine and zero-proof whiskies, gins, vodkas, and more. It doubles as a Christian listening space.
