Miss the Englewood tours last week with historian Shermann "Dilla" Thomas and artist Tonika Johnson? Don’t sweat, Dion Dawson of Dion’s Chicago Dream gave us some recs around the neighborhood.
Something to eat: “Taylormade Que is a gem in Englewood! The list of amazing dishes is extensive, but you have to try the rib tips, jerk chicken tacos, and the loaded rice bowl with steak and chicken! The flavor is amazing, the staff always greet you with a smile, and you will be left satisfied.”
Something to see: “The Englewood Village Plaza!” (This Sunday’s Vinyl & Vittles event will feature a record fair and community market at the plaza.)
Something to do: “Visit I Grow Chicago Peace Campus’ Imagination House.” (There are gardens and a half-court for basketball, too!)Dion told us about his mission to help end food insecurity across the city while delivering groceries to residents last year.
