Prep for this summer’s Democratic National Convention is well underway — including recruitment for neighborhood ambassadors in each of Chicago’s 77 community areas and some nearby suburbs.

What Will Neighborhood Ambassadors Do?

With hopes of attracting 12,000 volunteers for the multi-day event, DNC organizers are asking neighborhood ambassadors to recruit at least 50 volunteers for the convention.

That’s in addition to ambassadors hosting outreach events and acting as liaisons between the DNC and the community.

Who Should Apply?

Organizers are seeking out residents with high school diplomas who have a history of community leadership and are ready to volunteer 5–10 hours a week.

Why Apply?

While being an ambassador isn’t a paid position, there are cash prizes and priority volunteer assignments.
